FOSTERING SUSTAINABLE CHIEFDOM DEVELOPMENT
Agriculture is now the major livelihood activity of most people living in Chibwika chiefdom, even though it is at small-scale or subsistence level where only surplus is sold. Cassava and maize are the major foods consumed by the people of Chibwika. Other crops grown include beans, groundnuts, Irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, pineapples, finger millet and pumpkins. The chiefdom has plenty of water and receives good rainfall. These factors combine to make us the food basket for the entire Mwinilunga District as well as nearby towns such as Kazombu in Angola.
